Removing a Hold

A hold may be placed on your student record that restricts access to university services, including registration, transcripts, diploma, USCard and housing.

Following are the most common holds and how to remove them. For information about how to remove other holds, visit the Course Information section of your OASIS portal.

COLL 11 Prepayment of tuition and fees required for registration Contact University Collections at 213-740-9087 or collect@usc.edu.
LOAN 01 Past-due student loan Log in to Heartland ECSI to make a payment, or contact Student Financial Services at 213-740-3490 or uscsfs@usc.edu to request forbearance or deferment.
LOAN 02 Perkins loan assigned to U.S. Department of Education because of default Contact Student Financial Services at 213-740-4077 or uscsfs@usc.edu.
LOAN 03 Student loan exit counseling required Complete loan counseling through Heartland ECSI.
SFS 05 Past-due payment plan Log in to USCe.pay and select payment plan option to bring your payment plan current.
FAO 20 Hold placed by Financial Aid Office Contact the USC Financial Aid Office.
